ホテルの予約を取る、帰国便の予約の再確認（リコンファーム）をするなど、海外旅行中でも、電話を使う機会は多々あるものです。
電話での会話も決まり文句が多いので恐れることはありません。

ホテルに電話すると、たいていはまず、最初にホテル名を名乗ります。
しかし、とても早く聞こえますので、よく聞き取れないことがあるかもしれません。
念のため、上のように、確認すると、次の言葉が落ち着いて出てきます。

日本人の名前は、ほとんどの場合、正確には聞き取ってもらえないと思って間違いありません。
S-A-T-O のように、スペルをつけ加えたほうがよいでしょう。

flight number（フライトナンバー）とは、自分の乗る飛行機の番号、つまり便名です。
United Airlines であれば、UA375 のように、すべての航空機には便名がついています。
これは航空券に書いてあります。
国際線の場合、出発の72時間前までに reconfirmation （予約の再確認）をする必要があります。
これをしないと、席がキャンセルされる場合があります。
パック・ツアーであれば、添乗員が手続きをしてくれますが、個人旅行の場合は、各自で行います。
忘れないように注意してください。
