ビル・ヘイリー（Bill Haley） 1927〜1981

ミシガン州出身(1927年生まれ)でヨーデル歌手からスタートしたビル･ヘイリーは､自分のグループを結成して
ごく初期のロックン･ロール･サウンドに接近。

1954年にコメッツ（Comets）を率いてデッカ･レコードから｢ロック･アラウンド･ザ･クロック｣を発表する。

このレコードは最初あまりヒットしなかったが、1956年､映画｢暴力教室｣の中で使用されたことをきっかけに
ヒットチャートを登りつめ､ついに記念すべき初のロックン･ロール曲のNo１ヒットとなった。
